Final Synopsis

I have re-written my synopsis as most of the episodes have change and the progression of the serieshas changed a little.

We spend some time as a fly on the wall of a not so popular fast food diner, The Quick Stop. Here a camera crew creates a documentary about the goings on and the employees who work there.

It quickly becomes apparent that Greg, the deputy manager is out to usurp Maj the current manager and take charge of this Quick Stop diner. However he doesn’t factor in Ernie, the new boy’s serendipitous existence gets in Greg's way every time. Greg soon realises that he’ll have to somehow think of a way to get rid of both Ernie and Maj; leaving him care free to run the diner and enjoy making others’ lives a misery. Each week Greg thinks of more devious ways to rid the diner of these two, but their friendship just blossoms under the pressure and Greg’s fate to be the deputy seems more and more certain. Or does it??

Come and spend some time with the employees of Quick Stop. Will Greg ever have the power he so desires or is he doomed forever to watch while other people far less capable than him crawl their way up the greasy pole of the fast food chain career ladder.

Script

As part of the project we have to write about 3 pages of script of one of the episodes to show what it might be like. Surprisingly the lecturers said that nothing needed changing...not even any advice...

Scene 1 EXT. Town Square (MIDDAY)

It is sunny, just before midday at the 'Festival of Fast Food'.

A large stage dominates the center of the paved square, with a judges table atop; draped in immaculate white linen.

There is a lot of noise coming from the bustling crowds that have turned out for today's event.

Wooden stands of rival fast food diners line the walls of the square.

Each stand has it's own grill and service area with it's logo adorned in fabric above the stand.

GREG, HEEMA and ERNIE arrive at the festival with boxes of food and drink.

They find most rival diners are already set up and have begun to serve the eager festival goers.

The trio quickly find the Quick Stop stand.

                            GREG

                        (arrogantly)
OK. You guys get set up here...

I'm going to check out the
                competition.
Heema and Ernie look to each other and give disapproving glances as Greg walks off.

                            HEEMA
                      (annoyed sarcasm)
                Sure...no problem.

They head around the back of the stand and Heema unlocks it.

They start to furiously unpack and prepare the stand to serve the customers at the festival.

Meanwhile, Greg is meandering around the square trying the different foods from all of the stands.

He spends almost 15 minutes filling his cheeks and his arms with all sorts of different types of fast food.

He glares at each of the stands' employees as he does so.

Greg returns to find large queues have formed outside the Quick Stop stand.

The crowd is waiting in anticipation for the shutters to open.

Greg nips around the back of the stand just as Heema and Ernie finish setting up.

                            HEEMA
Greg we're about ready to go.

We could use your help up here!

Greg is behind the stand and has hold of 2 sauce bottles; chilli and mustard.

                            GREG
                         (snapping)
                One minute!

He looks round into the stand to see Ernie and Heema finishing cleaning all of the equipment in preparation.

Neither see Greg.

He sneaks back behind the stand and inspects the sauce bottles.

Greg then opens them both and mixes the two together, whilst looking over his shoulder ensuring no one can see what he is doing.

Screwing the top back on; Greg steps into the stand and hands the bottle over to Ernie.

Ernie looks at the bottle with confusion. He begins to ask Greg  about the sauce.

                            ERNIE
                         (confused)
                What sauce is thi...?

Greg purposefully cuts him short, slapping his hands together.

                            GREG
                      (with authority)
Lets get this stand open! Heema

                you'll cook the food and Ernie;
you'll take the money and prepare
it for the customers to take away...

Greg pops his collar and grins.

                            GREG

...I'll keep check of the stock

                behind the stand.

Greg steps out of the stand.

He sits on a box and leans against the back of the stand and relaxes.

Heema pokes her head out, she sees Greg sitting on the box with his eyes closed.

She scowls at him and spins around, walking back into the stand.

Greg laughs to himself.

                            GREG
                          (cocky)
Now just to wait for the

                complaints to roll in. Ha!

A short while passes and Greg begins to hear customers praising the sauce.

He immediately sits up and leans his head towards the back door of the stand.

Greg's face glazes over as he listens intently.

                            CUSTOMER
                (mumbling, mouth full of food)
                Mmm! This sauce is delicious.

                What's in it?

Ernie squeezes some onto his finger and tastes it.

                            ERNIE

                Hmm...It tastes like chilli and
mustard! I guess I must have
                mixed them by accident.

Ernie looks around to see all of the customers commenting on how great the sauce tastes.

Greg hears Ernie say this and quickly becomes angry.

Knowing that he created this sauce and he's getting no credit for it.

Ernie looks across to Heema, through the now smokey air and shrugs his shoulders with a smile.

She smiles back.
                            HEEMA
                 Who'd have thought?

Greg wriggles and rushes to get up, but his bum falls into the box.

Leaving him stuck and Ernie to claim the creation of the sauce.

Front Cover Design

I am deciding to print my book at 10x8, as a landscape book. I also changed my mind about binding it the way I was going to. I am going to ring bind it so that the pages are more easily visible and the book won't be forced to want to close on itself.

I think that this is a pretty good size for a ring bound book as some of the landscape space will be taken up by the spiral spine, leaving a good area to work with. I am also making my front cover myself with an image on card and the covering it with sticky back cellophane to give it a shiny and more professional finish.

Here are some designs for my front cover

Here was my first design, I just took the front of the diner and added a thick black border all the way around the outside. However it looks a little empty and needs something more interesting in the background.

This is when I was going to perfect bind it, I left a white edge to wrap around the spine.

Here is my final design I think. I left it quite blank near the left edge as this is where it will overlap and not be seen, also where the holes for the spiral spine will be.

I thought it would be a good idea to have a main front cover to show the main area where the action will be taking place and the main characters involved. Then to have a title page just inside with the title and "By Robert Beard"instead of trying to fit it on the front cover and having it blend in with the background.

These are my two designs.

Budget

I recently did my budget too. After researching and working out the costs of all of the staff and the office space and equipment that I would need I found the price to be quite cheap. From talking to Jud, I found out that the studio for Bob the Builder took around £3 million to set up. Which is much more expensive than mine.

Here is the research I did into the pricing for the studio, including the office, the computers and all of the required equipment and software.

And came out with a total of £68032.10 for just the studio costs.

When I factor in the staff at a cost of £537012 the total comes to £605044.10 over a 12 month period.

Here are the spreadsheets I made up with all of the information in them.

Book Printing

I had done a little research into book printing a short while ago and come across lulu.com and blurb.co.uk

However after doing some more in depth research yesterday, and enquiring into turn around times and prices, it would be risky printing now as it might not arrive in time for the deadline. Also the prices are a little out of my budget.

Roxy leant me one of her books on printing and binding, it shows you how to make your on cover for it in one section. This is something I am considering as it is a hard back and will save me a lot of time and money. And since I have now decided to print at the print shop next to the SU, I'll have to make the cover myself as they don't do hard back covering.

Here is the book (picture stolen from Roxy's Blog)

Office Space

So it's the 1st of December now and I have almost finished my Futures work! Just need to get things checked over to make sure its all up to standard and I haven't missed anything. Then sort all of my work into an acceptable order and get it printed.

I have done some research into office spaces and I have to say it took longer than I thought. Especially to find office spacing with the prices available. Also after viewing images of the office spaces I realised I needed around 1500 to 2000 square feet of space. I found one that is perfect and not a bad price.

I chose the ground floor space as it is the size I require and at £27,622.50 a year it's a bargain!

The 24 hour access would also be a bonus in case things run late and people are required to work late.

Moving On

YES!!

Episodes are finally finished! :D

Moving on to set design, and looking through example books I have seen that there is not a lot of set design...so I am going to do one more to show where a lot of the action will take place to give you an idea of the style and look of the place.

Final Episodes...

So after talking back and forth, I think these are going to be my final episode ideas. Still waiting on confirmation but I think I can pretty much call them final.

Episode 1
Today is Ernie’s first day at The Quick Stop, and Maj asks Greg to look after him and show him the ropes. This is just a weekend job for Ernie so he wants to keep his head down, do a good job and make it home at the end of the day.

Greg shows Ernie the way he does things in the restaurant, whether they’re right or not. Explaining the way he does things is better than the others; who have no idea about efficiency. However when Maj checks on Ernie she finds he is doing everything wrong. When he explains this is how Greg told him to do it, he finds himself stuck in a power struggle between the two with no real training.

Episode 2
Greg is left to look after an expensive children’s party for some rich demanding parents. He resents the way that the parents speak to him and feels he could do it standing on his head. This is the ideal opportunity to show off to the cameras, if he can only avoid the parents.

However things start to gradually fall apart as the kids become more unmanageable and start to tear around the diner. Greg eventually loses it and starts shouting abuse at the party of kids. The film crew has to step in to calm Greg down, whilst the parents demand their money back from Maj as she reprimands him.

Episode 3
Maj and Ernie are having a review about Ernie’s position and future in the diner, when Greg overhears Maj praising him for his fast learning. Greg is seething at this as he watches Baz and Turner doing nothing but daring each other to eat yesterdays fat from the fryer. Laughing to himself, Greg decides that since Ernie is doing so well he can be in charge of the drive thru today, and be pestered by the dim-witted duo.

Much to Greg’s annoyance Ernie, Baz and Turner hit it off and even get tipped by some customers for their friendliness. Maj sees this and praises Ernie some more, Greg can only watch on with jealousy as she awards Ernie with employee of the month.

Episode 4

There is a little competition for charity in the diner today; all of the staff are to dress up in fancy dress and see who can get the most money for charity.

Ernie doesn’t have many friends so hasn’t done much fancy dress before, he comes in wearing just his pyjamas and a night cap his mother made for him, claiming to be Wee Willy Winky. Baz and Turner try quite hard as Dennis the Menace and Gnasher, and Maj shows up as a fairy.

Not to be out done; Greg goes the whole hog and rents an over-sized bear costume. However this backfires, the costume is so large that he keeps head butting and knocking into the kids by mistake. The parents accuse him of abuse as he has made several of them cry, and Maj has to step in to calm the parents down whilst reprimanding Greg.

As a result, Greg raises no money; he actually loses money because he has to pay for damages to the suit.

Episode 5
Ernie has been away on a training day learning how to use the fryer. Today is his first day back and his chance to show Maj what he has learnt and she is very impressed, telling him that if he keeps it up there might be a promotion in it for him. Nosey as he is watching and through jealousy he decides to sabotage Ernie’s frying. Ensuring he gets that promotion, not Ernie.

He begins to overwhelm Ernie with orders, but Ernie catches on to this and tries to make a mess of things in an attempt to make Greg feel better, knowing that Greg wants to be promoted. He burns a lot of the food looking as if Greg has caused it. Which relieves some stress from Ernie, as Greg seems pleased with himself and backs off.

It turns out that this was an incredible stroke of luck. There is a call from head office telling them to remove the latest batch of burgers from sale immediately as there is a problem with the meat. It seems Ernie’s overzealous frying saves many customers from food poisoning.

Episode 6
Maj is out of the restaurant for a few hours and it’s not long before Greg is abusing his powers. Making Ernie clean the gutters and bins, and making others do all of his work while he chills out in the office.

Suddenly Greg’s mother enters the diner, however he doesn’t notice, as he’s too busy trying to chat up some women…to no avail. His mother announces her presence very loudly calling for her ‘currant bun’. The restaurant goes quiet and everyone turns to watch in confusion.

Greg’s tries to keep up the tough guy act; telling her to shut up. But she won’t tolerate this and slaps him round the back of the head and drags him out of the diner by his ear.

Everyone watches from inside as Greg’s mother shouts at him, flinching each time she shakes her finger at him.

When Greg returns to the diner, the other employees are sniggering and make fun of him for his mother’s pet name. Greg seethes with anger and starts shouting and throwing things…just as Maj makes her return. She sends Greg home early to cool off.

Episode 7
Each year The Quick Stop takes part in the ‘Festival of Fast Food’ and for the last few years have almost won 1st place. Maj appoints Greg and Heema to go and man the Quick Stop stall. However Greg suggests Ernie come along, seeing a chance to get back at him.

Greg is out to sabotage the festival, ruining the diner’s chance of winning this year and hoping to blame it on Ernie. When he has his back turned, Greg mixes hot chilli sauce with mustard to make an orange gloop that Ernie squeezes onto each burger. However it turns out that everybody in the festival loves this combination and it’s the flavour that wins them first place. Maj is so proud of Ernie for making the diner win this year, and rewards him with a small bonus this month.

Greg is gob smacked, and watches as Maj collects the award for the diner.

Episode 8
Greg has had enough with Ernie and Maj getting on so well, especially how Ernie seems to always do the right thing without even trying. He decides to take things into his own hands and try to get Maj fired whilst getting himself promoted at the same time.

He calls up a pet store and asks for 4 rats to be delivered to the diner, then calls the Health Standards Agency (HSA) and reports it. The HSA arrive and arrest Maj for breaching severe health and safety protocols.

However Ernie sees a receipt fall from Greg’s pocket, reading it he sees that Greg bought the rats and planted them in the diner to get Maj fired. He explains all this to the HSA, who let Maj go.

Maj decides that the best punishment for Greg would be to demote him from Deputy Manager, knowing this would hurt him most. Whilst also promoting Ernie to the new Deputy manager position, that just opened up.

Last Minute Episode Changes

O---K....After speaking to Sarah today and reading through my episodes with her, she didn't really like them. The idea of a storyline running through the whole series doesn't do well at all in the industry, each episode has to be understandable on it's own and there should be a goal for the character within the episode with a strong beginning, middle and end...So I basically did none of those!

However she did think that the basics of each episode was there but it needed some definite reworking. Some episodes have been put into one and one has been changed completely. Also the series focusses more on the relationships between Greg, Ernie and Maj...so a change in synopsis is probably due as well

Better late than never...right?

Episode 1
Today is Ernie’s first day at The Quick Stop, and Greg; the Deputy Manager, has been asked to look after him and show him the ropes. This is just a weekend job for Ernie so he wants to keep his head down, do a good job and make it home at the end of the day.

Episode 2
Greg is left to look after a children’s party that is taking up half of the diner, whose parents will be spending a lot. He’s a little resentful as he feels he is way above this and could do it standing on his head! Yet this is the ideal opportunity to prove that he is more capable and far more qualified to be manager than Maj.
However things start to gradually fall apart as the kids become more unmanageable and start to tear around the diner. Greg eventually loses it and starts shouting abuse at the party of kids. The film crew has to step in to calm Greg down, whilst the parents demand their money back from Maj as she reprimands him.

Episode 6
Maj is out of the restaurant for a few hours and it’s not long before Greg is abusing his powers. Making Ernie clean the gutters and bins, and making others do all of his work while he chills out in the office.

NEW:
Greg gets to work early today and seems to be hanging around the back door. Suddenly there is a delivery at the back gates, it is from the pet shop. Greg rushes out to get it and stuffs the box under a work surface in the kitchen hen he comes back in.

A few hours pass and most of the staff are on break. Greg sees a chance to go back to the box, but finds that there is a hole chewed through the corner. Suddenly a customer screams, she has seen a rat running over her feet. The entire diner empties at the drop of a hat and soon after the Health Standards Agency arrive with the Police.

Maj is arrested for breaching severe health and safety regulations as Heema and the others plead her case. Greg on the other hand feels his plan couldn't have gone any better; he snatches the clipboard from Maj and rips the managerial badge from her shirt. However as he does, a receipt falls from his pocket. Harold spots it and grabs it. It is from the pet store...for 4 rats. Too shy to speak up himself, Harold hands the paper to Heema. She immediately realises what has happened and shows it to the Health Standards Agents and confronts Greg. He denies it, but when the card details are found to match Greg's, Maj is released.

Since the rats weren't wild, there was no real danger. This leaves Greg's future in Maj's hands. She makes an unexpected decision; Maj doesn't fire Greg...she demotes him. Knows this would hurt more than anything. At the same time she promotes Harold to Deputy Manager for finding the receipt.

OLD:
Greg gets to work uncharacteristically early today and is hanging around the back door. Suddenly there is a delivery at the back gates of the diner that Greg rushes out to collect. Waiting outside is a pet shop van, with the owner standing at the back holding a large box; Greg peeks in the box and takes it from the owner’s hands. When coming back in, Greg places the box underneath a work surface in the kitchen and kicks it to the back, obscuring it from view.
A few hours have passed and a lot of the other staff are taking their lunch break, this is Greg’s opportunity to sneak back into the kitchen and take care of the package he collected earlier. However when Greg goes back to the box, he finds that there is a hole chewed through the bottom corner. He quickly runs out the back and throws the box into the dumpster, feeling that his plan went better than he originally hoped. When coming back into the kitchen he hears a scream come from the front of the diner. A customer has seen a rat running by her feet! The entire diner empties of customers as they run from the rats…soon after, the Health Standards Agency arrives.
The police are called and being the Manager; Maj is arrested for breaching some severe Health and Safety Regulations. Everyone has gathered round to see Maj leave, and unfortunately for the others, this means that Greg is now automatically promoted from Deputy to Manager, his dreams and aspirations have finally been realised. Greg snatches the Managerial Badge and clipboard from Maj as she is taken away, but as he does a receipt falls out of his pocket…it is from a pet store, for 4 rats. Harold spots this and quickly picks it up, too shy to speak up himself, he gives the receipt to Heema telling her it has fallen from Greg’s pocket. She immediately realises what has happened and runs after Maj showing the Head of the Health Standards Agency. Greg instantly denies it, but when they check the card that has been used to pay for the rats and see that it matches the number on Greg’s card; all becomes clear that Greg was the one who brought the rats into the diner.
The decision is left in Maj’s hand as to what happens to Greg, She decides that the best punishment would be to demote Greg, never allowing him to become manager of any Quick Stop Diner. Maj knows this would cut Greg deeper than losing his job completely. At the same time, for saving Maj’s career, she makes Harold the Deputy manager.

Episode 7 - Revised

Festival of Revenge

Main points
- Heema and Ernie are accompanied to the food festival by Greg
- Greg slips away and goes to a pet store
- In the meantime Heema and Ernie are left to run the stall alone during the busiest period
- Back at the diner things are quiet and Maj notices a pattern in the suggestion box
- Greg is gone a while and returns to see them get 4th place in the festival

NEW:
The 'Festival of Fast Food' is in town, here all of the town’s fast food companies compete for the title of ‘Fastest Food in Town’. Heema and Ernie are chosen to man the Quick Stop stall, and not one to miss a day out of the diner; Greg offers to accompany them. However Greg has an ulterior motive for getting out of the diner today, it is here where the first stage of his plan to punish the others for making fun of him can begin.

During the busiest period of the day, Greg leaves Heema and Ernie to struggle with the massive orders building up and sneaks down a side street. The cameras follow him at a distance, unbeknown to Greg, and see him enter a pet store.

Back at the diner, business is slow. It gives a chance for Maj to read from the suggestion box, and she is surprised to see so many great reviews about Greg in such similar handwriting.

Greg is gone for a long time and when he returns the queues have gone and the festival has all but finished. Thanks to Greg, Quick Stop finishes in 4th place.

OLD:
Heema and Ernie are sent out of the diner to the town square to man a Quick Stop stall at the ‘Festival of Fast Food’. Here all of the town’s fast food companies compete for the title of ‘Fastest Food in Town’.
Greg asks to take Heema and Ernie there; he’s not one to miss out on a day out of the diner. However Greg has an ulterior motive for getting out of the diner this day, it is here where the first stage of his plan for punishing the others for making fun of him can commence.
During the busiest period of the day, where the queues extend for meters; Greg leaves Heema and Ernie to struggle with the massive orders building up and heads off down a side street. The cameras follow him at a distance unknown to Greg and see him enter a pet store. Greg is only gone for a short while so Heema and Ernie don’t even notice he has gone.
Meanwhile back at the diner, business is very slow as everyone is out at the ‘Festival of Fast Food’. It gives a chance for Maj to read from the suggestion box, and is surprised when she sees so many great reviews regarding Greg in very similar handwriting.

Episode 6 - Revised

After reading this back I have realised that not much really happens throughout it. So I added another story line within the episode so it is more interesting.

A Mother's Love

Main Points
- Greg making demands and abusing his powers
- Ernie messes up his order
- Ernie takes it back and complains about Greg to the others
- Greg hears this and kicks off at them
- his mum comes in and belittles him, calling him currant bun
- the other staff make fun of him
- Baz and Turner are seeing how many cups they can stack or how high they can stack things.

NEW:
Greg starts the day in a bad mood, barking orders and abusing his Deputy Managerial powers. It's the last straw after Ernie incorrectly makes his lunch, Greg becomes almost violent and demands he remake it. Ernie goes to the back and complains about Greg to Baz and Turner, who pay little attention.

Greg overhears this and tears into Ernie. However is stopped short when a female voice bellows over him...Greg's mother; she has come for lunch. Grabbing him by the ear, she drags him to the middle of the diner, humiliating him in front of everyone. Greg is forced to apologise to Ernie, as Harold and Heema stand there trying not to laugh. Then everyone sees Greg shrink in front of their eyes as his mother calls him her 'currant bun'. Greg grabs two bags of food and drags his mother out of the restaurant.

Meanwhile, Baz and Turner remain oblivious to the drama as they have a competition to see who can make the highest tower, involving cups, dips and the tricky french fry pyramid.

Greg returns to all of the employees making sly jokes about his mother's pet name for him. This only makes Greg angry and he begins a plot to get back at them at the 'Festival of Food' next week.

OLD:
Greg starts the day making a lot of demands and abusing his managerial powers yet again. Ernie is to make Greg’s lunch as he sits down in the diner. However he screws it up and brings the wrong one, Greg naturally becomes more irritated with everyone and demands Ernie get the right one. Taking it back, Ernie complains about Greg to the others (Baz and Turner) who convince him to spit in it. Little does he no Greg is watching over them. As Greg begins to shout a female voice carries over Greg’s and his face drops…it is Greg’s mum. Greg still lives with his mum and today she comes in and sees him shouting at Ernie, she takes him by the ear and drags him out to the centre of the diner. There she humiliates him by shouting back at him and making him shrink down to the size of a pea in the other employees’ eyes. She calls him her currant bun, because when he was younger he had a lot of acne on his face.
The others in the diner see Greg in a new light today and spend the day making fun of him about his mother’s pet name for him, even Maj gets in a jokey jibe about it. This upsets Greg and makes him very angry, so he begins a devious plot that he plans to put into action during the next episode when he is out of the diner at the town’s yearly food festival

OLD:
It is Harold’s first day back after his training session and Maj is eager to see if he has practiced enough to be left alone working the fryer. After a few test runs, she is impressed with what Harold has learnt.
Meanwhile Greg is skulking around near the back of the checkouts, he is carrying a pair of pliers and looking rather suspicious. When he sees the camera crew following him he jumps, explaining that he is just carrying out some routine checks and repairs.
During which time Maj jumps onto the checkouts with Heema as business suddenly picks up. With Maj’s extra help things are running smoothly, that is until she goes to use the drinks machine Greg ‘repaired’…as she is serving a customer; the nozzle explodes in her face and soaks her with sticky smelly drink. Maj now has to make a run home to change her uniform, as she is drenched from head to toe. With Maj incapacitated for a few hours, Greg is left in charge. He spends most of his time in the office with his feet up, away from any customers and problems whilst the others are out front running around after orders. Greg soon becomes bored and comes out to cause a little chaos.
Ernie has been trouble free for some time now, much to Greg’s disliking, so seeing this he decides to give him some dirty work. Sending Ernie outside to clean the gutters and empty the bins.
Greg then focuses his attention on Harold, harassing him about his condition. As he heads back to the office Greg leaves Harold to stew in the anger and insecurities he has stirred up in his verbal attack. Harold then begins deep frying everything he can get his hands on; from his hat and shoes, to customers whole bagged orders. Harold’s training has become lost deep within the recesses of his adolescent brain. Heema quickly spots this as she passes and is able to calm Harold down. She also notices Greg is in the office doing very little, so takes the management of the diner into her own hands. She is able to get things under control just as the rush calms down and as Maj returns.

An over night storm damaged the diner's roof decorations, so Greg sends Baz and Turner up to fix it. Seizing a chance to make some of the other staff look dumb, Greg locks the door behind them; trapping them on the roof.

Heema is next in the firing line. When she isn't looking, Greg takes some money out of the cash draw. When the money doesn't add up at the end of the day, it is Heema who gets the blame.

Baz and Turner are now using all of their combined cognitive power in an attempt to get down from the roof. Whilst Greg pinches a customer's bottom as Ernie passes, making it look like it was him. Ernie receives a slapped face and a complaint in the suggestion box.

Just as the diner is closing, Ernie finds Baz and Turner on the roof after hearing them banging on the door. They are down just in time to see Maj name Greg as 'Employee of the Month'...yet again.

OLD:
Greg’s favourite time of the month comes round again…the ‘Employee of the Month’ announcement. Nothing is going to stop him getting in some last minute brownie points with Maj. Greg sees the perfect opportunity to make some of his colleagues look a little more than dumb, only making himself look more competent.
After an over night storm damages the spinning drink decoration on the restaurant roof, Greg sends Baz and Turner up on top of the building to fix it. Seeing his chance to get himself more brownie points, Greg intends to close the door behind the duo, locking them on the roof all day. However, they have little more than a brain cell between them so the door slams shut, trapping them on the roof. Whilst Baz and Turner are struggling to get back down, Greg is on a mission to get himself further into Maj’s good books. This comes in the form of making a fool out of Heema. Unfortunately for Heema, she is in the wrong place at the wrong time. Greg steals some money from the till that Heema has been using all day, and when the tills don’t add up at the end of the day, it is Heema that gets the blame and her wages docked the amount of the missing money.
Just before close, Ernie is the one to eventually find Baz and Turner on the roof, after hearing them banging on the roof hatch. He lets them down and they immediately accuse Greg of locking them up there. Greg denies it and Heema demands to see the security footage…confidently Greg agrees. It shows Greg was nowhere near at the time, to everyone’s confusion.
Maj has no choice but to announce Greg as the Employee of the Month due to other people’s mishaps and award him with a golden burger, much to everyone else’s annoyance.
